TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Robert Hunter

This lyric, from the Grateful Dead song “Scarlet Begonias,” is a prime example of the lyrical grace and wit Robert Hunter employed as a songwriter. Though he never played on stage, he was an irreplaceable member of the band and his partnership with lead singer Jerry Garcia spanned decades. “Scarlet Begonias” debuted in 1974 at the Cow Palace in Daly City, California, and was subsequently played 316 times in concert. It tells the story of a fleeting love affair in London, and this line can be taken as a poignant reminder to keep your eyes and heart open, because you never know what gifts life may serve up “if you look at it right.”

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is a Nigerian writer whose work, both fiction (“Half of a Yellow Sun”) and nonfiction (“Dear Ijeawele, or A Feminist Manifesto in Fifteen Suggestions”), tackles social issues such as race, identity, and gender equality. Her voice, celebrated for its uncompromising confidence, is perfectly captured in this quote, which reminds us — and women especially — that spending too much time worrying about what others think can be distracting and detrimental to our lives and our work. Instead, Adichie urged, it’s important to embrace exactly who we are; in doing so, we can find and live our whole truth.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS OF FORRESTAL HEIGHTS
February 24, 2023

This is another reminder for the Pet Owners who reside on the Forrestal Heights Property. BHA is asking all pet owners to clean up after their dog. All tenants who have registered dogs through BHA are expected to follow the BHA Pet Policy which clearly states Pet Owners need to keep their dog on a leash as well as pick up their dog’s poop.
It has come to the attention of BHA Management that not every pet owner is in compliance with the Pet Policy. We are taking this time to remind those Pet Owners who are not in compliance to fall into compliance. Pick up after your pet!
BHA appreciates your time and attention in this matter. Let’s work together to keep the community a clean and healthy place for us all
Thank you
BHA Management.
TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Nelson Mandela

South African leader Nelson Mandela spent half a century fighting against the oppressive system of apartheid that segregated Black and white South Africans — a fight that led to his arrest in 1962 and a 27-year imprisonment. After his release from prison in 1990, Mandela spent the next four years participating in peace talks and negotiations to bring apartheid to an end, and in 1994 was elected as the first Black president of a revolutionized nation. Mandela never faltered in his belief in a more equal and just future for South Africa, and that belief propelled him to act despite the risk. With this quote, from his 1994 memoir “Long Walk to Freedom,” he points out that courage and fear aren’t opposites; rather, true courage is taking action even when you’re scared. “The brave man,” Mandela wrote, “is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.”
Latest Information from Medicare.gov on COVID-19 Symptoms
Act fast if you have COVID symptoms Feeling sick? If you have any COVID-19 symptoms, act fast! COVID-19 antiviral treatments can help reduce your symptoms and keep you out of the hospital, but you must take them as soon as possible. Follow these steps to reduce your chances of severe illness: 1. Get tested as soon as possible. Medicare covers up to 8 over-the-counter COVID-19 tests each calendar month, at no cost to you until May 11, 2023. You can also search for no-cost COVID-19 testing locations near you. 2. If you test positive, and are more likely to get very sick, talk to your doctor or healthcare provider right away to find out if treatment is right for you. 3. If you’re eligible for treatment, start as soon as possible. Treatment must be started within days after you first develop symptoms to be effective. COVID-19 Treatments Consider using a Test to Treat location where you can get tested and have the prescription filled, all in one location. Sincerely, The Medicare Team ![]() |
