TOAY’S INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Edward Hopper

When it comes to art, a steady hand and technical proficiency will take a creator only so far. It is imagination that drives artistic endeavors to greater heights, as painter Edward Hopper was well aware. Hopper was a realist painter, but within that realism he painted windows into the soul — quite literally, as many of his most famous paintings, such as “Nighthawks” and “New York Interior,” place the viewer in a voyeuristic position, looking through literal windows at the poetic scenes unfolding inside. His paintings often have a strong dramatic narrative that go beyond reality into the thoughts and emotions of his subjects. “The inner life of a human being,” Hopper said, “is a vast and varied realm.”

TODAY’S DAILY INSPRIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Allen Ginsberg

The second half of this quote originally appeared as a line in Allen Ginsberg’s poem “On Burroughs’ Work.” Years later, in an interview with “Writer’s Digest,” when Ginsberg was asked to share some advice for aspiring writers, he borrowed from his own material, adding the line about following your inner moonlight. It’s a concept that Ginsberg, who was known for disrupting the status quo with his eccentric ways, both preached and practiced.

The Tabernacle Church Of Christ ~ My Bread Is Your Bread Event

This year the Tabernacle Church Of Christ will provide boxes of holiday food to the residents of Beacon Housing Authority. In the past the Church has provided prepared meals which they delivered directly to residents. However, this year the Church is moving in a new direction by providing boxes of holiday foods which residents can prepare themselves.

BOXES OF LOVE FROM TABERNACLE CHURCH OF CHRIST

The Tabernacle Church Of Christ will be on hand to distribute the Boxes Of Love this Wednesday November 23, 2022. If you are interested in receiving a “Box Of Love” you must report in person to pick it up. The Boxes will contain canned goods and staples which reflect the Holiday Season.

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Amy Poehler

With these words from her 2014 memoir “Yes Please,” comedian and Emmy Award-winning actress Amy Poehler encourages us to take on challenges, even when they feel daunting. Poehler — who co-founded the influential Upright Citizens Brigade before moving on to “Saturday Night Live” and later starring in NBC’s beloved sitcom “Parks and Recreation” — is certainly qualified to give advice about ambition. She goes on to suggest that “doing what you’re afraid of, getting out of your comfort zone, taking risks like that — that’s what life is.”

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE ~ Vincent van Gogh

At the age of 16, in 1869, Vincent van Gogh left his home in the Netherlands to work with his uncle, an art dealer who was traveling between London and Paris. The work gave him access to some of the greatest artists of his time, but Van Gogh himself didn’t begin creating art until 1880, just 10 years before his death. In that time he created over 800 paintings and 700 drawings, establishing a unique style that would, posthumously, make him a household name. Though he only sold one piece of work in his life, he is widely considered one of the greatest painters of the 19th century.

TODAY’S DAILY INSPIRATIONAL QUOTE ~ Amy Schuler

The day-to-day grind of just existing can feel like it takes up all our energy. When we get caught up in the minutiae of our busy schedules, we sometimes forget to stop and enjoy life, rather than just working our way through it. In her hilarious and deeply human memoir “The Girl With the Lower Back Tattoo,” comedian Amy Schumer urges us to make things easier on ourselves by seeking out the fun moments that are all around. Whether it means tossing aside the to-do list on a beautiful day, treating ourselves to that ice cream with a friend, or just allowing a minute to watch those TikToks that make us laugh, it is always worth the time it takes to do the things that make our lives happier.
