UPDATES FROM BEACON’S MAYOR LEE KYRIACON … PLEASE REVIEW AND SHARE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Hi all, Mayor Lee Kyriacou here again with a couple of community updates.

  • COVID-19 Rise.  As I reported earlier this week, active COVID-19 case counts are up in Beacon – due to one residential facility.  Currently there are 48 active cases in Beacon, of which the vast majority are attributable to this one residential facility.  The county health department ordered isolation protocols for all involved, and Beacon police are assisting to help ensure isolation to the affected property.  I will continue to keep you informed.
  • Weekend.  Another pleasant weekend is coming.  That continues to mean social distancing, face coverings in public, quarantining if required, and of course, being respectful and kind to all.  Keep it up.
  • Spirit of Beacon Day.  This weekend brings Spirit of Beacon Day – with some changes for community safety.  Spirit of Beacon will take place this Saturday from 12-4 PM.  In lieu of the traditional parade and festival, there will be caravans visiting each neighborhood, with honoree cars and recognition for those serving us all at the front lines during the pandemic.  Everyone is invited to enjoy from their front porches, including decorating your homes in honor of Beacon’s resilient spirit.  You can follow along with the day’s events, including concerts, on Channel 22, at www.SpiritOfBeaconDay.Org, or on the Spirit of Beacon Day Facebook page.
  • Thank you, stay well.
