County Executive Molinaro and the Dutchess County OFA Host a Series of Special Events for Older Adults in August

County Executive Marc Molinaro and the Dutchess County Office for the Aging have a series of special events for older adults on the calendar for August.

We have two days of OFA Educational Forums scheduled for Wednesday, August 10th and Wednesday, August 17th, both at Coppola’s in Hyde Park (4167 Route 9).

The schedule for the Educational Forums is as follows:

Wednesday, August 10th

  • 10 am – Avoiding Scams and Fraud, with Kirk Imperati, Dutchess County Sheriff
  • 11 am – Medicare 101, with Lenke Ganz, OFA Health Insurance Coordinator

Wednesday, August 17th

  • 10 am – Grief: What Helps When It Hurts, with Dr. Kenneth Doka, OFA Advisory Board
  • 11 am – Peripheral Artery Disease, with Dr. Holly Korzendorfer, Assistant Professor, Marist College Physical Therapy Program

Both events include lunch after the 11 am presentation.

These events are free, but advance registration is required because space is limited to 90 seats.

Echoes of Sinatra at the Grandview

On Thursday, August 25th, a treat for Frank Sinatra fans: Steve Kazlauskas brings his “Echoes of Sinatra” show to the Grandview (176 Rinaldi Blvd., Poughkeepsie) on Thursday, August 25th, at 1:30 p.m. for a free end-of-summer Office for the Aging concert for older adults (60+).

Steve will perform Frank’s biggest hits like “Fly Me to the Moon,” “New York, New York,” “Strangers in the Night” and more.

There’ll be open floor space for dancing, and snacks available at intermission.
