With the summer coming to an end, Beacon City School District announced the end of the Summer Meals Program effective 8/19/2020. The School District will be moving forward with a new “Meals Program” which is designed to provide meals to remote learners throughout the school year. Please review the information below for the specifics of this new program:

| Goal | Our goal for Remote learning meals in Beacon City School Foodservice is to ensure that families that have remote learning schedules can still access healthy meals weekly for their children. Thank you for helping us serve Remote meals as safely and efficiently as possible. In order to achieve our goal, we have made the following plans in conjunction with our district administration and local health authorities effective 9/16/2020. |
| Location of Meals | Meals for students grade K-6 will have meal pick up Wednesdays at RMS Meals for students grades 9-12 will pick up at BHS Meal times are not yet determined. |
| Schedule of Meals | Meal schedule for in School class schedules will be posted on our website before the start of school. |

| Preordering for Meals | Families must preorder remote meals using the system available at www.myschoolbucks.com Please register if you are not already registered. |
| Meal Cost info | Meals in school and for remote learning pick up follow the Free/reduced/paid schedule for payment. Students who are free/Reduced will pay no fees for any meals. Students who do not qualify for Free/Reduced meals must fund the remote and in school meals on www.myschoolbucks.com account. |
| Costs for Paid meal status | Meals are FREE for students who qualify for free or Reduced meals. Meal cost for Remote distribution if on Paid meal eligibility : 3 day elementary 13.80 3 day Secondary $14.85 5 day Elementary 23.00 5 day Secondary $25.55 Reminder all meals must be funded on www.myschoolbucks.com before pick up. Meals cannot be charged on meal accounts. |
| Payment for Meals | Payment for schools meals will only be accepted by funding on www.myschoolbucks.com. |
| Keeping is safe | Remote meal pick up will be conducted as a drive by – trunk drop. Roster for preordered meals will be at the start of the pickup line. Families will pick up in the circles of RMS and BHS athletic entrances. Please wear masks for pick up and have trunks open to keep our service staff at a social distance |
| Meal applications for the 2020-2021 SY | Meal eligibility applications are available on the School District web site , Departments, Food service tab. Applications can be requested to be mailed home for hard copy. Complete applications can be scanned or cell phone screen shot and emailed to : Moustakas.D@Beaconk12.org or Contact Karen Pagano or Danielle Moustakas at 845-838-6900 X2012 or 2021 We should also have on line meal applications available Starting in September. |

Distribution for free Groceries through Mutual Aid Beacon Will continue based on a schedule available on their website http://www.beaconmutualaid.com/
Distribution from Fairground Foundation will also continue in our local region and more information can be found on their website Fairground.org.
Greens for Greens SNAP and EBT support programs will continue at the Beacon Farmers market
